Following the dissolution of Sprain, brought to a close with the album The Lamb as Effigy, Alex Kent and Sylvie Simmons gave birth to a new project: Shearling.
Demanding and visceral music, built from tension, heavy silences, and sonic detonations — engaging the body as much as the act of listening.

Naomi & her dancing birds: a joyful bunch of shy dreamers, a few birds, a trombone, a piano, a fringed moustached being, and other oddballs orbiting the fabulous collective @autourdugarage, a wider gang of rural weirdos based in Villejuif City. They craft a slightly strange folk art-rock made for sad springs — fragile, gentle music that cradles you through doubtful days.

When we discovered them, our world spun backwards for a few minutes in their company. We hope you’ll love them as much as we do 🧡

Carton Rouge (FR) – Free Jazz

Carton Rouge, a duo of the instant: explosive avant-garde music constantly flirting with combustion.
A fusion of free-flowing lava and colorful desires, meteor-struck matter-sounds carved even deeper by velvet pads ringed with screaming metal. Refracted, deconstructive expressionism — relentless, breathless, with no halftime.

Frozen virtuosity, slaps, headbutts, whistle blows in blazing colors. Jazz to be lived: hypnotic, generous, rooted in the unexpected yet always deeply respectful of jazz tradition. Born from a brotherly friendship, this sparkling duel-duo, driven by fierce creative sincerity, sets the canvas ablaze in a vortex of rare intensity — with remarkable finesse throughout.

Founded in 2021 by drummer Émile Rameau and saxophonist Liam Szymonik, Carton Rouge has emerged as one of the most singular and daring duos on the contemporary French and European jazz and improvised music scene. A duo of rare intensity, their work revolves around instant composition, at the crossroads of avant-garde music, jazz tradition, minimalism, and contemporary music.
