16/9/24 – I Hate Myself Because / Blou Feet
16 September 2024 – La Bellevilloise
In 2020, I HATE MYSELF BECAUSE burst onto the scene with “i feel bad”, followed by “i don’t dance.” The Ukrainian artist — now counting over 50 million streams — has since rebelled against his image as a hitmaker. On 16 September 2024, he will play his very first Paris date at La Bellevilloise.
Expect addictive, misanthropic garage punk with plaintive hooks and jolting contrasts: rough, fuzzy guitars clashing with anxious introvert lyrics over frantic club-ready beats. His music is eccentric, wonderfully whiny, and dizzyingly evocative — imagine a sonic breakdown in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. It’s danceable, suffocating, and intentionally too much.
Come get knocked sideways. Let I HATE MYSELF BECAUSE drench you in his melting, sticky rhythms.
The night is brought to you by Hex Post (@hex.post), a newly formed platform uniting underground cultures by bringing together artists around industrial, digital, and experimental artistic questions. By blending music and contemporary art, Hex Post aims to break down locked doors, circulate raw human warmth, short-circuit market logic, and above all, spotlight those who refuse to silence their humanity.
Opening Act – BLOU FEET
Born in Hong Kong, raised in Shanghai, BLOU FEET landed in Lille four years ago and started making music during lockdown. A storm of cultural influences, a boundless love for art, and an unshakable drive to fuse styles have shaped his unique sound — blending emo rap, sharp pop rock, and post-punk edge. With standout tracks like SABLES MOUVANTS and CORDYCEPS, BLOU FEET is one of the most promising New Gen artists to watch in 2024.
